little canvas

I'm absolutely loven my new painting!!!
This gorgeous piece of art work is painted on a tiny canvas of only 10cms by 7 cms.
Made by my very talented lil sis.
I must admit this was not made for me but I must be very persuasive, as I fell in love with it and it has ended up in my house. Tehehe, thanks sis!
Wonder if my persuasiveness could possible achieve more artwork from her into this house?????

What are Saturday's for?

Our Saturday this week is all about knitting!
My eldest son asked to learn how to knit and here he is learning.

Learning to knit

I think it's a shame that our hand crafts are not passed from generation to generation anymore. Bless the internet....and all the crafty information it holds.
Were would I be without the internet? I don't care to know at this point, lol.

The crochet pattern I was talking about earlier is coming soon too, I promise, just hit a bit of a glitch.

Enjoy your Saturday!!

Now I know my ABC's

I've been busy this week working on my next quilted wall hanging. I found some gorgeous fabric a while back that I just couldn't resist, it had all individual squares of the alphabet on it. So finally I'm turning it into a wall hanging for the boys room.
It is all hand pieced and ready for the quilting and binding to be done. It will be hand quilted like the last one too. I really enjoy hand quilting but find that it is something I can't do late at night as my lighting is not good enough to see where I should be stitching.

Sorry for the poor camera shots but I'm in a hurry to do a million other things as it's school holidays here. I'll post a better shot when it's all quilted and finished.

Stash diving

I have found that having a little girl after 2 boys that everything seems to be pink. I have been inundated with pinks/purples, and while they are super cute I'm over it. The good thing about pinks and purples is that everything matches.....that is until you get something else thrown in the mix like... RED!
Now red doesn't go with most pink or purples. I absolutely love red on my little miss but as the weather is freezing here at the moment she didn't have anything red to keep her little head warm when she goes out wearing something other than pink.
Well that's easy fixed I go stash diving and pull out some lovely red yarn and some embellishments and this is what I came up with.

Nice and Toasty

That's how my feet are feeling now that I've finished my socks. This isn't the first pair I've knitted but it is the first pair for me and my feeties are loven me for it. I finished them last night and have to admit that I love them so much that I slept with them on.
So nice to finish another item on the needles.

Head space

This past week I've had a few crochet patterns floating around in my head. I'm finding the process for creating these pattens a bit painful, while they are super easy and really wouldn't take much to whip up, I can't seem to find much crafting time. With the days getting darker so much earlier and the obvious family commitments, the hours seem to be slipping by way to quickly and nothing seems to be evolving.

All I can leave you with is the hope that I might be sharing some new patterns with you soon. Oh I can also tell you that they will be amigurumi (stuffed crochet creatures) patterns, really loving them at the moment.
What's your favorite amigurumi pattern?
